While many are forcing Israel to accept a 2 state- solution with the Palestinians with little regard to Israeli security concerns, news is out today that the peace loving men of Hizbullah planned 3 simultaneous terror attacks against Israeli tourists.
According to ynet: “Hizbullah planned three simultaneous terror attacks against Israeli and Egyptian targets in three different tourist spots in Sinai, head of a Hizbullah cell in Egypt Sami Shihab told police in his investigation.
Parts of Shihab’s investigation were published in Egyptian daily al-Ahram on Tuesday, and according to the report, the organization planned to publish an announcement after the attacks claiming responsibility for them.
According to the report, Shihab gave “earth-shattering confessions” during his investigation. Shihab reportedly admitted that the organization’s goal was to carry out attacks in Egypt, and not to aid Hamas in Gaza, as Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah had claimed.
Shihab said he was ordered by the Hizbullah headquarters to carry out terror attacks on Egyptian soil and to target Israeli tourists and foreigners. Shihab said the cell was tasked with carrying out the attacks using suicide bombs, car bombs, and planting explosives among Israelis staying in Sinai, and in Dahab, Taba and Nuweiba in particular.”
But there is no ‘war on terror’–isn’t that right Prez. Obama?
In what she continuously hailed as her great ‘diplomacy’, which basically was turning Israeli security sovereignty over to the UN in southern Lebanon after the last Lebanon war, it now appears that the UN is going to pull out. What hath you say Tzipi Livni? Now what? Let’s see, you pushed for a UN resolution which was nevr enforced and now the supposed peacekeepers are going to leave. That leaves a rearmed Hezbollah sitting on the Israeli border. Great it of diplomacy….Not.
According to the Jpost: “The United Nations force in southern Lebanon is on its way to “disintegrating,” senior defense officials warned on Saturday, after
Poland announced it was withdrawing its troops from the peacekeeping force.Polish Defense Minister Bogdan Klich announced on Friday during a visit to
Lebanon that the 500 Polish soldiers currently assigned to UNIFIL would return home by the end of the year. “Poland is more and more involved in NATO and EU missions. Thus we are returning from UN missions,” Klich said, adding that “they ceased to play such an important role for the security of
Poland as it has been the case in the past.”
As a former Washingtonian now living in Israel, I am deeply offended by the words of Congressman Brian Baird (D-3rd District Washington). The congressman was touring Gaza, not exactly Clark County, and just laid into Israeli security policy. After eating up all of the propaganda fed to him he had the gall to say, “It’s hard for anyone in our country to imagine how it must feel to have a sick child who needs urgent care or is receiving chemotherapy or dialysis, then be forced to take a needlessly lengthy route, walk rather than drive, and wait in lines as long as two hours simply to get to the hospital. As a health care professional myself, I found this profoundly troubling, no, actually it’s beyond that, it is outrageous,” said Baird.”
Outrageous? No offense congressman but have you ever heard of terrorism? Maybe the reason Israel’s borders are closed is because every time they are opened our buses, cafes, and hotels get blown up by the very people you ’support’? If I am not mistaken, the reason Israel launched an offensive against Hamas, was because they were targeting Israeli civilian populations with missile attacks, non-stop. Ever hear of self-defense? Maybe it’s the fault of the Hamas, who stole relief aid, and who have done nothing for Gaza residents since they came to power? What about the mobile hospital that Israel built to care for injured Palestinians? Ever come into an Israeli hospital, Mr. Congressman? Well they are full of Palestinians both being tended to and working on staff. What do you have to say about that? I haven’t seen to many Jihadists working in the Providence Saint Peters Hospital, why not?
You go on to say, “If this had happened in our own country, there would be national outrage and an appeal for urgent assistance. We are glad that the Obama administration acted quickly to send much needed funding for this effort but the arbitrary and unreasonable Israeli limitations on food and repair essentials is unacceptable and indefensible. People, innocent children, women and non-combatants, are going without water, food and sanitation, while the things they so desperately need are sitting in trucks at the border, being denied permission to go in” said Baird and Ellison. ”
Really? After 9/11 I didn’t see you out there banging the drum to provide basic needs for Al-Qaeda? ‘if this happened in our own country…’ What? First of all you don’t have a sworn enemy living within US borders who wants to drive you into the sea, and if you did, you are telling me that after they started bombing your cities, you wouldn’t seek to put an end to the attacks? What a bunch of crap.
Congressman Baird, your district lies in some of the best fishing waters that exist. To borrow an anglers metaphor, it sounds like you swallowed the propaganda hook, line and sinker.
Looking for bit of irony? How about the fact that at the same time South African(SA) ports are boycotting Israel and refusing to unload cargo, the Israeli security firm, Nice Systems, has signed a deal to protect 5 more SA ports.
Globes reports: “The Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) intends to ask the International Transport Workers’ Federation to help bring about an end to the boycott imposed on Israeli ships by port workers in South Africa. “The union in South Africa is against anything connected to Israel, and in the past even objected to a cooperation agreement we signed with the Palestinian transport workers union,” explained Transport Wokers Union chairman Avi Edri.”
That in itself is pretty bizarre, since Israel is pretty much the only middle east country with such a developed labor union system, and their brothers in arms have sold them out!
News also broke today, “Transaction analysis firm NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) has extended its video surveillance technology deal to protect five additional South African port terminals. Transnet Port Terminals, the largest cargo terminal operator in South Africa, is expanding NICE’s IP video surveillance environment at Durban Car Terminal and Ngqura, for a total of five port terminals.”
So let me understand. We need to boycott Israel because of the recent war with Hamas, yet when it comes to protecting your own territory with video surveillance, Israel will do just fine.
