FM Lieberman: Set Iranian Timetable for Dialogue

Written by: Aaron Katsman | May 5, 2009

Not wanting to let the Iranians play the UN,US, and Europe buy paying lip service to dialogue while continuing to build their nuclear program, Israeli FM Avigdor Lieberman, said that no more than 3 months should be allowed for diplomacy.

According to ynet:“It is important that the dialogue with Iran be limited, and if after three months it will become clear that the Iranians stalling and are not shelving their nuclear program, the international community will be required to take practical measures against them,” Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi during their meeting in Rome Tuesday.

During the meeting, which ran over an hour, Lieberman asked that Berlusconi convince Russia to sever its ties with Hamas and Hizbullah, “who are terror organizations that act against the West’s allies in the Middle East, including Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.”

Once again it seems that Lieberman is making sense.

Climate Change and Anti-Semitism at NYU

Written by: Aaron Katsman | April 28, 2009

While climate change may be a hoax, anti-semitism is alive and well. Even, or more appropriately, especially on college campuses throughout the US. Case in point the latest event at NYU. A student organized an event about climate change, only fool school officials and start marketing an event about Israeli apartheid against the poor Palestinian people.

According to Ynet: “An anti-Israel student event was planned, and then canceled Monday, at New York University (NYU). The student, who has asked to hold an event unrelated to Israel, was actually planning an event to explore Israeli “brutality” against the Palestinians.

After receiving permission to host an event at NYU on May 4, based on a proposal for a forum on climate change, the student responsible then hung flyers for a conference on “The Hidden History of Zionism: The Road to Gaza’s Killing Fields,” to be hosted by the International Socialist Organization, an anti-war Marxist group.

“The recent assault on Gaza by the Israeli military and the continuing economic blockade of the region has shocked millions of people around the world,” read the flyer, which featured a picture of a bloody Gazan child from Israel’s Operation Cast Lead against Hamas.”

I guess that climate change and ‘Israeli apartheid against Palestinians’ are similar; neither is based on much of anything factual.

Hamas Sets Up Bank: Can You Say ‘Money Laundering’?

Written by: Aaron Katsman | April 22, 2009

I have heard about companies setting up credit unions for their employees, but I have never heard of a terror organization starting up a bank for its’ own terrorist members. Well that is until today.

According to Ynet: “The National Islamic Bank has $20 million in start-up capital and will operate under Islamic finance rules, he said. With offices on four floors of a building in central Gaza City, the bank will hold the accounts of 6,000 Hamas employees whose salaries are to be deposited in the bank. Rafati did not say how the Islamist movement acquired the start-up capital in a territory under Israeli embargo since Hamas, which is pledged to the destruction of the Jewish state, violently seized power in 2007. Because of the blockade, which has prevented all but essential humanitarian goods from entering the territory, Gaza’s banks have faced a virtually constant liquidity crisis. Rafati said no such problems would plague the new bank. “We have absolutely no crisis of liquidity, be it shekels or dollars. This will allow us to win the confidence of customers.” Although the vast majority of the board of directors are members of Hamas, including Rafati, he said the bank was “a private enterprise aimed at making profit and is not associated to Hamas or to the government in Gaza.”

You don’t think this will become a hub for money laundering, do you?

Hizbullah planned 3 simultaneous attacks in Sinai against Israelis

Written by: Aaron Katsman | April 14, 2009

While many are forcing Israel to accept a 2 state- solution with the Palestinians with little regard to Israeli security concerns, news is out today that the peace loving men of Hizbullah planned 3 simultaneous terror attacks against Israeli tourists.

According to ynet: Hizbullah planned three simultaneous terror attacks against Israeli and Egyptian targets in three different tourist spots in Sinai, head of a Hizbullah cell in Egypt Sami Shihab told police in his investigation.

Parts of Shihab’s investigation were published in Egyptian daily al-Ahram on Tuesday, and according to the report, the organization planned to publish an announcement after the attacks claiming responsibility for them.

According to the report, Shihab gave “earth-shattering confessions” during his investigation. Shihab reportedly admitted that the organization’s goal was to carry out attacks in Egypt, and not to aid Hamas in Gaza, as Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah had claimed.

Shihab said he was ordered by the Hizbullah headquarters to carry out terror attacks on Egyptian soil and to target Israeli tourists and foreigners. Shihab said the cell was tasked with carrying out the attacks using suicide bombs, car bombs, and planting explosives among Israelis staying in Sinai, and in Dahab, Taba and Nuweiba in particular.”

But there is no ‘war on terror’–isn’t that right Prez. Obama?
