Is Hugo Chavez to Blame For Venezuela Synagogue Attack?

Written by: Aaron Katsman | February 1, 2009

It seems like state sponsored anti-semitism may be to blame for Friday’s attack against a Caracus synagogue. According to a Jpost report:”The US-based Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said the attack was “not a random event in Venezuela; it is directly related to the atmosphere of anti-Jewish intimidation promoted by President [Hugo] Chavez and his government apparatus.” The suggestion of government sanction for the attack was heard many times from Venezuelan Jews over
the weekend
, though most of them would not speak on the record.
“I do not expect the law to be enforced,” Hariton said simply. The ADL called on Chavez “to abandon the official government rhetoric of demonization of Israel and Jews and to publicly denounce this wanton act of anti-Semitic violence.”

It’s clearly on thing to oppose military actions taken by the State of Israel. It’s another thing to attack a religious place of worship. It’s no secret that Hugo Chavez ( sounds more like a drink than the name of a serious world leader) is anti-Israel. He has made no secret that he hates Israel as much as he hates the US. Considering all the domestic issues that Chavez is facing, ( gotta hate when the price of crude oil drops by more than $100!) I guess he feels that making Israel the focus of his leadership will somehow distract his angry constituents.

It is abhorrent that Chavista thugs would attack two places of worship. One would hope that at least places where good people worship would be exempt from the violence that characterizes the Chavista movement, indeed, from any political strife in a democratic society, and this propensity for irrational violence has characterized the Chavista movement from it’s beginning, during the abortive coup when Chavista gunmen slaughtered so many innocent people while their glorious leader cowered in the basement of the National Library.

Chavez is known for his antipathy to a free and unfettered press, and to any religion that teaches it is better to conduct human affairs with the intellect and a warm heart than with guns and bullets, unless he and his movement would benefit from all the love. It is not reciprocated.

Chavez is also known on the public record for his viciously prejudiced statements about Jews, Israel, Catholics, the Pope, etc.. The scope of his enmity is perhaps exceeded only by the of Hitler and Stalin.

His remarks blaming the synagogue attacks on the so-called Opposition are clasically Hitlerian in their substance and arrogance.

Even more to the point is the fact that Venezuela has abundant and productive uranium resources. The mainstream media in the US, indeed, the world, is curiously silent about this. Also curious is the fact that Chavez’s Venezuela is a haven for armed groups in training such as Hamas and Hezbollah, perhaps, even groups allied with the so-called Al Qaida.

Chavez is busy converting this relatively peaceful nation into an armed camp to advance his grand ambitions and Fidel Castro’s peculiar spin on Marxist-Leninism. Billions have been spent on Russian made nuclear subs, assault weapons, very capable jet fighters and bombers, helicopters, missiles, and more. He has increased the size of the army from a purely defensive sized group to over one million standing troops, and he has also established from his so-called Bolivarian circles a parallel force intended to be his personal guard and shock-force reminiscent of the Nazi SS….and he is busy converting the educational system into one that primarily indoctrinates the young into his adn Fidel’s weird doctrines rather than providing the young with access to open minded and effective educational opportunities. The Venezuelan version of the Hitler Youth is in its’ infancy, just wait a bit to see how that works out, if that is a safe attitude. Just for the sake of argument, if fissionable material is being sent to Iran and/or Pakistan for refining, where does it go from there? Why is the press silent about this menacing looney-tune? Why has it been silent or been shilling for him for eight years?

Most curious is Venezuela’s industrial, trade and diplomatic pact with Iran. An astute observer simply must wonder how much fissionable material is being trans-shipped back to Iran within “empty” containers and other things related to their truck industry…indeed, the media is silent about this. It is not a WMD type rumor, but a disaster in the making, in human terms including financial. One he declares himself life-president after Feb 15th, we will surely see all this and more come to pass.
