Have a look on AMPL. Ampal is going to start selling gas from egypt to israel and become israel major gas supplier in the coming decade. gas supply should start in early 2008. It already signed a number of large contracts with the israeli electric-company, durad (water purification plant),machteshim-agan, nesher (cement plant) etc. ampal can sell gas in the lowest price in the world(!), making it very attractive for various industries wishing to become more efficient in the coming years. Thailandic energy giant called PTT is also snoofing around, with intentions to liquid some of the huge gas reservoir and then being able to ship it worldwide. ampal have other biz as well. As you can see from AMPL stock graph, interest is indeed growing. AMPL serves as a good example of a fruitfull initiative in the middle east, for the benefit of everyone.
